About me
My name is Zach Jones. I have had a passion for music, performing, and creating since before I can even remember. I aim to showcase and share that very same passion with every person around me, anywhere I go, every single time that I go up to play. I have written, sang, and played guitar for several different original projects, including my new solo band project ZMJ and my current alt-rock band Shallow Planet. I also do solo, duo, and trio acoustic performances. I would love to talk with you and work with you if you ever need music.
Solo acoustic sets
My most frequent and consistent type of performances are solo acoustic sets. I play at a variety of local breweries, wineries, and private events all around Northern Virginia. My acoustic sets are a unique blend of music spanning several different artists and decades, including Stone Temple Pilots, The Beatles, Neil Young, The Lumineers, John Mayer, Incubus, Dave Matthews Band, James Taylor, The Black Keys, REM, Doobie Brothers, Silverchair, Eagles, The Strokes, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Noah Kahan, Pink Floyd, and much, much more, as well as a handful of original songs. zmj Duo,trio, and full band
I now offer an acoustic duo, acoustic trio, and a full band for any venue or event, including breweries, wineries, festivals, and private events. All three of these acts are a blend of covers and originals, and span genres such as folk, blues, rock, and pop. If the duo, trio, or full band sound like something you want or need, don’t hesitate to reach out!

shallow planet
Although I love acoustic music, it is always a ton of fun to grab the electric guitar and turn the volume up. My band Shallow Planet is a three-piece original alt rock band that utilizes dynamics, influences from other genres, and atmosphere to drive home an experience or story. Our debut album “Real Forever After” is available to listen to on all streaming platforms.
